"For more than a decade that I have been painting the American West, I've always tried to be true to the West and the feelings that this place is giving me. My love for it comes from childhood and never left me. My pull to it has de-rooted me from native France and brought me to the Arizona red dirt. I have learned to be part of this place by living here, and studying it. The clouds, the mesa, the bushes, the smell, the desert, the mountains.. all of it. I also learned most of it by meeting the people who live here. Native Americans and non native Americans. Cowboys and cowgirls, workers of the land, believers of the land. On this painting, I want you to feel what it's like to witness a sunset in Arizona, when spring turns to summer and the air is crisp and we feel so free. Free to dream, free to be, free to imagine we can be anything."
